Founded in Stockholm in 2017 by Anna Bromberg Sehlberg and Elin Forsberg, Galleri Glas is a contemporary fine art gallery with a distinctive and pioneering position within the Swedish art scene.
Established with the ambition to challenge traditional perceptions of glass, the gallery has played an active role in redefining its position within contemporary art, advocating for its recognition as an autonomous artistic medium beyond the conventional boundaries of craft and design.
Through its singular curatorial focus, Galleri Glas has contributed to a broader understanding of glass as a medium of artistic and conceptual significance. Its exhibition programme brings together established and emerging artists whose practices explore the relationship between material, form and artistic expression, often challenging established hierarchies between fine art, craft and design.
Over the past decade, the gallery has expanded its artistic scope to include painting, photography and other contemporary practices. This evolution reflects a deliberate curatorial ambition to foster dialogue across disciplines, allowing different artistic expressions to inform and enrich one another without losing the gallery's distinctive identity.
