Curie Adelswärd 1967

Artist Curie Adelswärd portrait painter and sculptor

Curie Adelswärd was born in Korea and moved to Sweden at the age of 13. She received her education at Esmod in Paris and has a background as a fashion designer. Since 2004, Curie has been working as an artist and has had several successful exhibitions in Sweden. She is also frequently hired as a portrait painter, and among her commissions was the first official portrait of H.R.H. Princess Estelle.

Curie's oil paintings are inspired by classical painting, but the motifs are contemporary. Curie works with great accuracy in details and balance in the composition. The ambition is to seek timeless beauty and harmony with figurative paintings that border on realism.

For the past two years, Curie has also worked with marble sculpting at the Marble Art Studio in Pietrasanta in Tuscany, Italy. Curie is now exhibiting sculptures for the first time in Los Angeles at S.A.V. Gallery. As in the oil paintings, the theme of timeless beauty, harmony and balance recurs in the sculptures, where the classic is combined with the contemporary.
